Katie turned 6 months this past week and had a very busy week. She experienced many first all in one week. I often forget all the little things so want to take just a minute to record some of her milestones!
She started her 6 month mark at the Dr. weighing in at just 14lbs(in 20% percentile) 27.1inches(92% percentile) and her head is in the 22% percentile:-). She is very long and skinny. Taylor was a lb and a 1/2 bigger than her and much shorter at the same age.
So, we also continued her 6 month birthday with a lil cake and sang her happy birthday. She did not get to have any cake but it was pretty yummy! She did get to have her first solid meal though and she was beyond excited for it. I gave her a lil rice cereal and she would open her mouth and smile so big when I was feeding her. Most of it ended up all over her face and tummy but with time she will figure it out.
Katie is trying so hard to crawl. She can roll herself anywhere she wants to go but this week she has learned to scoot. So I'm thinking crawleing will be in the next week or so!
a couple of other things she did this week:
-she got to ride in push car outside by herself
-she walked while I was holding her
-she has mastered sitting up
-took a bath in the tub with her sister
-slept in her crib(thought this day would nver come)
Katie is a joy to have in our home. Not only do Dennys and I adore her so does Taylor. Taylor is always concerned about katie and wants to know where she is at all times. She gives her love all day long and tells everyone katie is her sister! Katie loves to smile and is a pretty happy baby. I think she is going to have a very sweet personality and sensitive to others feelings. We love and adore her so much.

What will the new year bring?
So, sad the Holidays are over but excited to see what the new year will bring us!
Those of you that know me Know that I wait till the last minute to do anything and x-mas shopping is no different. Normally I am starting my x-mas shopping on Christmas eve. However, this year was different. I was one of those crazy black Friday shoppers waiting in line at Kohl's at 11pm the night before. This is the first year I took on black Friday shopping and it ended up being so much fun. Two of my sister-in-laws and my mother in-law joined me in the fun!
I had decided I was going to enjoy the season this year. Taylor is getting old enough to understand the fun of Christmas and I want to make memories for her. She helped decorate the tree, we did some Christmas art work, we went driving and on walks to see Christmas lights(her favorite thing to look for was the baby Jesus in Nativity scenes) and watched the x-mas Barney many times. It was a fun season for us. I'm so happy that I made the decision to embrace the season.
On Xmas night Santa Clause came and visited the kids at Mita's house. While they were up reading a story they heard Santa come and they watched him eat cookies and leave gifts for them. It was hilarious to see each of their reactions! They were all amazed that they saw Santa. Taylor on the other hand was traumatized and is now scared of the dark and is scared if you mention the name Santa heeheee.
Katie turned 5 months on Christmas day. I can not believe how quick time is going by. She has been battling a little bug for awhile now. She has this horrible cough that scares me because she coughs so hard and can't breath. She is so spoiled because of her not being able to breath I put her next to me in bed that way I can prop her up when she is having a coughing attack at night. Now, she demands to sleep next to me ughhhh. I don't know what happened this time around. With Taylor we were very by the "book" and this time everything has been thrown out the window:-)! To be honest though I remember crying because Taylor was not a cuddler and I thought it was my fault due tot he fact we would not let her sleep in our arms. So, with Katie I prayed for a cuddler and God answered my prayer so I really am thankful for the cuddle time I have with Katie. And I'm so happy to say that Taylor has turned into a cuddle bug as well.
Katie, is growing like a weed. She is in the 90% for height and 50% for weight. When she is not crying she is very happy and gives the BIGGEST smiles! I love her little smile it just melts my heart. She is pretty vocal and is working on crawling. She can push herself up pretty good and tries to scoot herself. She has figured out that she can roll herself to where ever she want to go. It's so funny to watch her roll herself to a object in the room. She is getting so cute and I can't wait to see her grow in the next year. By next Christmas she will be 1 1/2 already and walking. Crazy to think how much they change so quickly.
Taylor is a blast to be around. I adore her personality and admire how happy she is and how much she TRULY loves and adores everyone. She lights up a room when she is around. She loves to love everyone. She has a smile on her face and has the cutest little giggle. She will fake a laugh just to get someone else to laugh with her. I know she is my child and I adore her but I really feel she has the gift of putting a smile and everyone's faces. She just has so much personality and I LOVE IT! She has been talking for awhile now but in the past month it has really come together. She speaks full sentences and can hold a real conversation. Her favorite thing to say these days is "darn it" and "oh my goodness mommy" it is so cute coming out of her mouth.
Taylor also got a big girl bed and has been sleeping on it everyday now. At first she still wanted to be in crib but she now climbs right up in her bed for nap and at night. It is another happy/mixed emotion for Mommy and Daddy though. We love that she is growing up but sad to see such a big phase of her life go away.
So even though Taylor brings so much joy I have to report that I was not happy yesterday when I got called out of the gym to be told Taylor was being suspended for the 2nd time. Yes, my 2 year old has been suspended twice in her life already. The first time she bit and yes at the time she had the tendency to bite but thankfully I think we are past that stage. This time however I was watching the entire thing and so mad that they would suspend her. From what I saw and they claim as well is that another boy 3 or 4 years old pushed her down the ground. She pulled him down with her and scratched him which drew blood. They came and told me that she would have to be suspended for drawing blood. I was so upset because there were only like 10 kids in the room and about 6 teachers standing around chatting. They should have prevented the situation. So anyways I no longer have a membership and sad because that was my "mommy time" each day. Taylor did tell me as we were leaving the gym " mommy don't cry everything will be OK"! heehee how can you not smile when she says that?
So, with the new year ahead of us we are super excited to see where God will lead our family. Dennys and I have made a few New Years Resolutions for our family. I pray that God grows us into better people along the way. If you want you can pray that our family draws closer to God and becomes more obedient to his will for our lives. We also want to give our time and really make an effort to volunteer this year. In the past few years I have been really bad at giving to others. It is so important to me that I am a living example to my girls. I want them to have joy in their hearts to have the desire to give to others and help wherever they can. I feel the best way to do this is by being a living example to my girls. Sometimes I feel such a burden that I have to be the better example as a parent because I am a female and I have 2 girls that I have to lead. Somewhere in my heart I think it would be easier if I had boys then Dennys would be the one to have to set the bar. So, yes I feel the burden but It is a good "burden" to have. I'm so thankful that God has given me the desire to set the bar high for my girls and he is going to lead me every step in teaching them how to be Obedient to him and how to be good to others. With all of this said I'm once again thankful and in awww of God and what he has done for my life. Someday's it is easy to think of all the negative however the truth is that I'm so BLESSED! I do not deserve the life I have but Because of God's grace I have a GREAT LIFE:-)

Where is the time going?
I know! I know! It's been along time since I posted. Everyday gets busy and there is always something that has to get done or I'm just to tried to "think" of something to write.
It seems each day is busier than the past and then when I think back I can't remember what we did. last week was Thanksgiving which was Katie's first. The girls were dressed alike and can you believe we did not even take one picture. I think I'm going to have to put them both back in the outfit and pretend it was taken on Thanksgiving day. I feel bad that Katie being baby number 2 will not have near as many pictures as Taylor had taken as a baby. With Taylor we took pictures every single day the first year and now with Katie we rarely have out the camera. It's not because we love her any less though it's just that life is much more crazy with 2!
Katie has been pretty sick with a cold the last couple of weeks. Which gives mommy yet another excuse not to go to the gym and workout:-)! I feel bad she coughs so hard but is such a trooper.
Yesterday, was not a mommy of the year day. We were getting ready to go to Taylor's swim class so I set Katie in the car seat which is up on the dryer and did not buckle her. As I was quick putting on a shirt All I saw was my little angle flying in slow motion through the air. She flew into the laundry basket full of clothes and bounced right off onto the hard cold tile floor. I was horrified and started to scream. Both girls also started screaming! I'm so thankful the basket of clothes broke her fall otherwise we might have ended up in the ER!
Then about 5 minutes later while I'm still cuddling and comforting the baby from the fall Taylor walks in the room and says, " oh no mommy look" she had found a bottle of nail polish and had it all over her and the tile floor. Needless to say we did not make it to swimming class:-)
Both girls are changing so much. Katie is leaving the newborn stage. She is such a happy baby. She loves to cuddle and demands attention. When I breastfeed she has to twirl my hair it is soo cute. She is "kinda" sitting up and she loves to hold and explore things in her hands. I can't believe she will be 5 months already at the end of the month. I'm falling more in love with her each and everyday!
Taylor is also amazing. Just in the last couple weeks she has changed and seems much more mature with her vocab.. She uses full sentences and seems to think of what she has to say before she says it.
I wish I wrote down more of what she says. Dennys and I like any parent would be are so amazed by what she says. She loves to pray. Every single night we pray before bed and she often continues her prayers when we leave the room. When she wakes up in her bad in the morning I hear her on the monitor praying for people and she always ends with " In Jesus name I pray AMEN"! Sooo super cute.
Dennys came home from work one day last week and she sat up at the table and told him " Daddy I need attention".
The list goes on and on on what she says and shares with us each day. My mom was over this past weekend and she cracked us up. My mom's tummy growled and Taylor looked at her and said " oh your Butt, Mema say excuse me. It was hilarious.
She is entering the stage that she does not nap everyday. As I'm writing this post she is in her crib yelling at me to come get her. I still make her rest that way we all have some down time. She has figured out how to get out of her crib. But most days she is good about staying in until I get her. She only climbs out when I have her there for a time-out. Guess I have to find a new spot.
Christmas is coming very soon. Dennys and I are more excited this year since Taylor is getting to the age where she understands more. We have most of our shopping done and will be sad when the season comes to an end. I have a huge desire to make memories/traditions for our girls. From projects, family time, and even the way our house smells. I pray that the girls will look back and have great childhood memories. I love my little family so much and am thankful for what God has given me in each of them.

Katie is Coeing
Katie turned 1 month old yesterday and holy cow it has gone so quick. It's not our favorite baby stage but I'm sad to think she could be our last baby in the house so I try not to get to worked up over sleepless nights.
This past week she has been showing a lil more personality. It is so cute because she will move her head towards Dennys or my voice. A couple of nights ago when Dennys came home from work she was laying in my lap and when she saw him she gave a little smile and started to coe. It is so fun to hear her sweet litle voice. She is getting cuter everyday. She is amazingly strong. At just 2 weeks she started turning from her tummy to her back( I think the Dr. thought we were crazy when we old him she was rolling already). And she now holds her neck up and pushes up with both arms like she is doing a push up. Taylor was pretty early crawling right at 6 months but I have a feeling Katie might show her up. We are so happy to have Katie in our family and are looking forward to her forming her own personality.

SHOPLIFTING
Katie is 4 weeks this week and I still feel like I'm in survival mode. I have been feeling so guilty having Taylor locked up in the house for the the last month. Her and I were always on the go before baby Katie and both of us seem to be going stir crazy. So, I made it a point to get her signed up in a swim and gym class and also signed up myself for a MOMS Bible study group.
So, today was our first MOMS group. I was feeling confident being out by myself with both girls and decided to go to mall after moms group. I had Katie in the stroller and Taylor walking next to me. She was being such a good listener and seemed to be enjoying being out of the house. We had gone to a couple stores and then found ourselves in baby section in Dillard's. We decided to head back to other side of mall where we started. Right when we get into original destination (JCP) I looked at the front of the stroller and we had a big green piggy bank on board with us. Yes, Taylor must have decided she needed another bank for her shelf at home:-0! Just as I realized we had to return back to Dillard's the baby started screaming. I then went from a confident mom who feels like ok I can handle this went back to thinking what in the world am I doing out with a 4 week old and a toddler. I quickly convinced myself I would be on the evening news as a miss fit mother who steals little green polka dot piggy banks! I could see myself crossing the line back into Dillard's and buzzers going off and me being hauled away heehee.
Ok well maybe that is a little dramatic but anything is possible when you have Miss Taylor with you. She keeps me on my toes everyday and never fails to make me smile. Needless to say I walked right back in store and the buzzers did not go off and I returned the lil piggy back to it's home. And yes we are now home for the rest of the day.

WARNING SHE IS A CHOMPER
So, yesterday I was to upset to share this story yet today I find much humor in it. Almost every weekday Taylor and I got to Mountainside fitness to workout. Well, I workout and have some mommy time while Taylor goes to gym daycare to play with other kids. For the most part she seems to really enjoy it. We have had a few issues with her being bit. And on those occasions I have asked the question what happened and nobody ever seems to have a clue.
Well, yesterday I guess the roles were reversed as I was enjoying my cardio session chatting with my friend I hear my name being announced over the loudspeaker to report to childcare. I figured she had been bit or to be honest she bit somebody else. Taylor who is ‘spirited” to say the least has been known to be a little feisty. So, I got my stuff and walked into childcare and this older women is holding her. And as I’m walking up she says Taylor bit another child. And not only did she bite another child she will be suspended for 1 month. I kind of laughed but realized the old bag was serious. I asked the lady if she was kidding. We have been going everyday for almost a year now and I have never got a warning or talked to about Taylor’s behavior. I then asked well what happened and course the standard answer was” I don’t know nobody saw what happened”. I was so upset. I mean for goodness sakes what 1 ½ year old understands suspension? Then to top things off the lady goes on and says and “don’t try and pull a fast one and take her to another mountainside because she is in the system and they won’t let her in’. I walked away crying. Here I am 9 months pregnant and balling. I speak to the manager and he tries to justify the policy but you can tell he thinks the policy is ridiculous as well. Needless to say he said he would review the situation and get back to me which of course never happened.
So, today I’m still annoyed that she got a month suspension. This means a suspension for me as well. But, it’s so hilarious today to think my 1 year old is suspended and is on a WARNING list across the US at all the Mountainside fitness locations heeheee. I was in 5th grade when I got my name on the board for the first time and was devastated. But, my child at 1 goes straight for the suspension heeheee. Oh Lord, I’m scared to think of what is in the future for Dennys and I as parents!
